BIddestone Stud

Biddestone Stud, near Chippenham, Wiltshire was founded in 1970 by the late John Moore and started as a 100-acre farm. The Stud’s first success was in breeding Raffindale, a 2yo 5f Ascot track record holder who went on to become a Champion in Australia.

The real foundation of Biddestone Stud’s success was Amazer, a two-year-old winner over six furlongs in France in 1969 who was bought at the Newmarket December Sales at the end of her racing career. Amazer produced 17 foals, all of which raced and 15 of which were winners. Mtoto, the Champion older horse in Britain in 1987, was the best of Amazer’s progeny. The other foals included Petal Girl, (dam of Canadian International Gr.1 winner Mutamam), and Savoureuse Lady (grand-dam of Prix du Jockey Club Gr.1 winner Blue Canari). Amazer was also grand-dam of the Duke Of York winner Lugana Beach and the King’s Stand winner, The Tatling.

Biddestone Stud is now owned by Tim & Gill Bostwick and Tareq Al-Mazeedi and is managed by long term Stud Manager Ian Bradbury. Ian has been with Biddestone Stud for 14 years and has foaled over 2000 mares to date. Ian is assisted by an excellent team of staff who are dedicated to giving all the stock on the farm the highest level of care and attention.
